Kassidi Bishop: Basketball Career Sidelined by Bipolar Disorder?
Kassidi Bishop was an aspiring college basketball player who, due to NCAA guidelines, was sidelined from playing. Because of difficulties stabilizing her episodes of bipolar disorder, she had an extensive absentee record which hampered the progress of her college education. Bishop appealed, claiming her mental condition was no different from the allowances made for physical conditions.
Shelley Beattie
Shelley Beattie is a champion bodybuilder and athlete. She has won multiple competitions for her skill and is known for her role as Siren on “American Gladiators. She is also celebrity who has both bipolar disorder (manic depression) and hearing loss. Neither has diminished her career!

Vincent Van Gogh
Vincent Van Gogh was a brilliant artist in the late 1800s with as many as 873 paintings and 1049 drawings credited to his brief career, celebrated for his unique content and use of color. Throughout his life, Van Gogh had a difficult and moody personality. Various biographies describe him as suffering with epilepsy, depression, psychotic attacks, delusions, and bipolar disorder.
